November 12, 2007  Printable PDF

SCOTTS VALLEY, California USA

Add-Vision Inc., inventor and developer of printable Polymer Organic Light-Emitting Diode (P-OLED) flexible display technology, today disclosed the names of two of its joint development partners: Alps Electric Co., Ltd. and Toppan Forms Co., Ltd.

Alps Electric and Toppan Forms are headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The partners seek to exploit Add-Vision’s flexible P-OLED technology to capture new business opportunities within their respective lines of business. Alps Electric is a global manufacturer and distributor of high-performance electronic components used in communication appliances, peripheral products and automotive applications. Toppan Forms is a leader in the field of information management services with a broad spectrum of digital and multimedia products and services. The companies wish to protect the confidentiality of their chosen early-entry market application for printed P-OLEDs; however, both anticipate the potential commercialization of printed P-OLEDs by end of 2008.

Add-Vision’s collaboration with Alps Electric and Toppan Forms formally began in December 2005 and May 2007, respectively. The manufacturing partners have demonstrated lab scale capability to fabricate P-OLED displays using their own facilities, personnel and printing equipment and will continue efforts to develop pilot production capability in 2008. Add-Vision will support scale up via technology transfer services as well as supplying advanced materials required in P-OLED manufacture.

Matthew Wilkinson, Add-Vision’s President and CEO commented, “I am delighted to announce Alps Electric and Toppan Forms as our technology development partners. We share a common vision and commitment to leverage the strengths of flexible P-OLED display technology to pursue new business opportunities. Our development partners bring substantial know how in the scale up process, greatly accelerating our time-to-market. We welcome the challenge to meet the growing interest and demand by OEMs and end customers for this exciting technology.”
